Satoru Takeshi
Age: 503
Physical Age:: 22
Gender: Male
Sector & Division: Second Sector and Division.
Seat: Captain of the Second Division
Appearance:
General Appearance
- Spoiler:
Satoru stands exactly at a height of 6 feet, [183 cm] weighing in at 183 pounds [83 kg] His frame is rather thin, accompanied by wiry muscles. His coal black hair reaches down his neck at the back and frames his face in messy locks that never seem to be able to stay the way they should be. The comb always has to admit defeat, leaving out only the possibility of using tons of gel. Which might not exactly be his first choice. His usual clothing consists of a typical school uniform. A white or gray shirt that's usually buttoned all the way up, or in a messy way when he oversleeps and has to be in a hurry, a tie of varying color and then a dark blue or black jacket over. His pants are generally dark dress plants or blue jeans.
His eyes vary in color, ranging from a dark to light blue or perhaps even a dull gray depending on the day. However, despite their color, they always hold a rather cold look within them, almost empty of emotion at most times. Behind the cold glare their is always the hidden burn of curiosity as the eyes which absorb any and all they come across. Although his eyes seem mostly void, the rare flare of emotion may appear when the feeling is particularly strong, these flares bringing more color to his eyes as they appear to be a flame within his iris.
Personality:
Outward Persona
A key aspect of Satoru' personality is his ability to almost entirely mask every aspect of his personality in nearly every situation. During his youth, Satoru realized how beneficial it was to hide ones emotions in many situations. Over the course of his life, he has nearly perfected this art, only those who know him very well are able to glimpse the emotions which fuel any actions. Others will find it difficult, if not impossible to deem what he is feeling, as his body gives almost no notable signs unless he wishes it to. He also possesses the ability modify his visable personality for most social situations. This falling into place due to his ability to separate the different social situations and modify, or rather hide in an extent, his personality to fit each of the situations. As such, in many situations he may seem entirely indifferent; seemingly not caring the slightest about the events, when he really is planning or thinking deeply upon them.
Outward-Battle --General Life Aspects
"The world is the chessboard , the pieces are the phenomena of the Universe, the rules of the game are what we call the laws of Nature and the player on the other side is hidden from us” That simple statement describes Satoru's outlook on life. The world is the board, it's shapes all fitting into the shape, it's environment effecting the people . People are the pieces, the hand moving them is guided by emotions, their motives never clean, pulled into play by primal desires. Any interaction with other's is dictated in strategy like a game of chess, every move in every situation is important. Battle even more so fits this mantra, every move made should be one planned stiffly, but with enough room left for adjustments as to compensate for unforseen events. He deliberately cultivates an air of mystery about himself, keeping his actions unpredictable so that even those closest are often kept off-balance and guessing as to his next move. "Predictability allows individuals to study a potential opponent, note their apparent strengths and weaknesses, and plan accordingly" is a phrase he lives by. He appears also to be extremely intelligent and a brilliant tactician who almost never seems to be unprepared for any thinkable and unthinkable circumstances
Outward-Close Relationship
While Satoru's entire outward personality is that of a mask, those closes to him get to see the mask slide away ever so slightly. While Satoru's entire outward personality is that of a mask, those closes to him get to see the mask slide away ever so slightly. When with people he has a close bond with, he is fun loving, a bit of a prankster and seemingly care free. Satoru is laid back back, sometimes seen as lazy. Yet at times he is completely playful and hyperactive. Although he acts indifferent, he deeply cares for and is very protective of those closest to him. One of the most obvious traits of Satoru is his extremely competitive nature, if challenge to anything, he will compete and compete until he wins. He is seen as eccentric, often spending his time and/or money on odd pursuits. He enjoys a good fight, often relishing in losing to an opponent, just because it presents another challenge.

The energy is similar to both Cero and Ice; capable of releasing large destructive blasts or feezing the opponent. When Released, the area around the blade will feel cold and still and all techniques of the released blade will give off the same deathly manner. This energy is capable of being released when the blade is swung, or manipulated through a series of verbal commands.[techniques listed below] In addition, the blade also is colder than normal, capable of freezing water based attacks on contract.

Bankai Information
Bankai Name: Hyoukai
Bankai Description: It should be noted that even though he has captain rank, Satoru's Bankai is not fully developed, meaning through further training it's abilities may increas. When Releasing his Bankai, Satoru’s blade shatters and floats into the air. Once released, the area within 50 meters of Satoru will blizzard like conditions, with snow and ice littering the area and a 30mph wind with temperatures starting at 0 degrees Fahrenheit and dropping by 10 degrees per every two post. The snow makes it difficult to see and can then be manipulated through a series of release phrases. The snow can be melted by fire or extreme heat, but will regenerate as long as Satoru has the spiritual power to fuel the technique. In addition, given the cold temperatures, any water will freeze within the area of effect.[Further Techniques listed in the technique section]
- Enhanced Spiritual Pressure: Upon releasing his Bankai, Satoru gives off immense spiritual pressure. Those below Captain rank or Equivalent may feel afraid to fight him. In addition, anyone within the range of the technique will feel cold due to his spiritual pressure and they will feel their joints stiffen to the cold as well as find it slightly more difficult to move, thus their movements will be slowed.
- Weather Control: While the Bankai is active, Satoru is able to control the weather in the area [relating to his technique.], such as increasing snow/ice-fall and wind speeds.

Kido:
Techniques:
- Spoiler:
Name: Fukuzai
Type: N/A
Number: N/A
Incantation: "Hidden from sight, you shall not see. Hidden from hand you cannot feel. Yet when needed I stand beside you."
Element: N/A
Description: This kido compresses the spiritual energy stored within a zanpakto into a small item making it easier to hide it's presence. In a way this grants a third release stage with now added power. Once this Kido is used on the zanpakuto, the incantation must be said to return it to it's original form. Satoru's Zanpakuto gets compressed into a ring.
Techniques:
Passive
- Spoiler:
Name: Immense Spiritual Energy
Type: Passive
Description: This level of spiritual power corresponds to those possessing an enormous amount of spiritual power which is finely controlled. This level of spiritual power is reflected in its ability to enhance a user during combat as well as its ability to affect the surrounding environment on a controlled level, allowing the wielder to use it in combat to startling degrees. When within his true form [outside his Gigai], Satoru wears an eyepatch, similar to Kenpachi's which makes his Spiritual Energy seem pitiful, only showing it's true state when removed.
Name: Hohō Master
Type: Passive
Description: Hohō is the name given to one of the four combat skills of the Shinigami and relates to footwork. The agility and speed of Hohō can be enhanced and improved through mastery of it, concentration, and training. The foremost practitioners of this technique are those assigned to the Onmitsukidō. Shunpo is the most commonly used Hohō technique. However, there are variations even within Shunpo and other Hohō techniques that only master Hohō practitioner can use. Masters of the technique are obviously by far the fastest beings within Soul Society. They are capable of maintaining high speed movements for extended periods of time while only using the least amount of steps to achieve those movements. Masters are capable of using Advanced steps which are considerably harder to initiate. A master can possibly create new techniques but it is most likely a rare occurrence.
Name: Hakurda Master
Type: Passive
Description: Hakuda the general term for close-combat techniques that make use of one's own body as a weapon. High-speed Taijutsu attacks are used to overwhelm the opponent.Physical strength and skill is determined by this class. It also seems to be a combination of several martial arts.
Name: Zanjutsu Master
Type: Passive
Description: Zanjutsu is the most used form of combat among Shinigami. As the name suggests, it involves using a Zanpakutō and its various special abilities to attack an opponent. In addition to its basic form, each Zanpakutō has two enhanced forms: Shikai and Bankai, which change the sword's form to unlock its potential and that of its user.Master Swordsmanship Specialists vary greatly by power and technique. The criteria for a master is simple; one must have masterful skill in swordsmanship above all else. The attainment of this level of skill is a testament to the wielders power and determination. Most Shinigami Captains are masters, since as the heads of their divisions, they are the true military power of Soul Society. As use of the Zanpakutō is the Shinigami's primary form of combat, it is preferable to have mastered skill in order achieve the rank of captain though mastery is not excluded to them or even to Shinigami.
Name: Inexperienced Kido User
Type: Passive
Description: Satoru is rather unskilled in the art of Kido, currently capable of only utilizing one Kido without further training in the control of spiritual energy and the understanding of Kido.
Normal Techniques
- Spoiler:
Technique Name: Half Step
Technique Type: Hakurda/Movement
Degree of difficulty: Expirienced Hakurda User
Description: It's a simple technique used for dodging close range attacks at high speed. With precise timing, you use the leg from the origin of the opponents attack and slide that leg forward a half step to the opposite of the attack. The key here is timing. If the dodge is performed correctly, the dodge can actually end up leaving an opponent open for an attack. These include only direct punches from the bottom of the pecs and above and vertical downward kicks. The trick behind this technique is making the movement smaller than that of the opponent's attack. No matter how fast the attack maybe, this movement offers the smallest movement to dodge. Once the opponent is open for an attack, the best move would only be a direct attack. Such as a "Lariat" or Clothesline or a direct punch. These are the only know attacks for a successful "Half Step" dodge that will work.[Due to the specifics of this technique, it lacks a cooldown]
Technique Name: Strong Slash
Technique Type: Zanjutsu
Degree of difficulty:Beginner Zanjutsu
Description: The user will place their sword facing upwards, curved inwards slightly to their own body. They will then wait for their opponent to strike. When the opponent does strike, the user will unsheathe the blade, deliviring a strike at the upper torso with the full part of the blade. Once that is done the user will switch grips and bring the blade forward, cutting deeper.
Technique Name: Speed Slash
Technique Type: Zanjutsu
Degree of difficulty: Beginner Zanjutsu
Description: The user will start by sheathing their sword and then tilting the sword down slightly while still in the sheath. They will then wait for the opponnent to strike. When the pponent does strike, the user will unsheath their sword with all their force and with using gravity to help them, and slash outwards at the opponents upper legs just above the knees for a crippling blow.
Technique Name: Master Shunpo
Technique Type: Movement
Degree of difficulty: Master
Description: Shunpo (瞬歩, Flash steps), a movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow.[1]. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point A to point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move; those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower, which requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become winded far easier in a shorter amount of time
Technique Name: Utsusemi
Technique Type: Movement
Degree of difficulty:Master
Description: It allows for a movement at great speed leaving an afterimage behind. The afterimage may even appear to have taken damage.
Shikai Techniques:
- Spoiler:
Name: Happa
Command Phrase: Yukiko utsu
Type: Shikai-Offensive
Description: . This attack fires particularly strong and destructive saphire-colored energy blasts similar to Cero or Bala blasts, with an added cold to them, capable of freezing water sources near them. Satoru can control these blasts, and can even change the shape, size, and intensity of them, easily being able to match similar energy techniques. These blasts can vary in intensity to that of a weak hollow level energy blast to rival high level Shikai techniques. The blast last one post and has a one post down.
Name: Tate
Command Phrase:Yukiko Kakumau
Type:Shikai-Deffensive
Description: This attack creates a blue energy Shield in front of Satoru or wherever he wishes it to manifest. The shield can vary in shape and size and can only be broken by a Shikai or higher level attack. The Shield lasts 3 posts if unharmed and can only be used every 2 posts.
Name: Ichiren
Command Phrase: Yukiko, Kusari
Type:Shikai-Offensive
Description: By focusing energy and slashing his Shikai, chains will manifest, created from the blue energy of the Shikai. By slashing his sword a second time, Satoru can send them towards the target and if they hit the target they will immobilize those under Shikai level, while the cold aspect of the energy slowly cools the opponent.. If left in place long enough, the chains will begin to freeze entirely. The chains last 3 posts if unbroken and can only be used every 3 posts.
Bankai Techniques:
- Spoiler:
- Technique Name: Hijiei
Technique Type: Bankai
Degree of difficulty: Master
Description: The User is able to manipulate the ice and snow around them into various structures which can defend against attacks. Each structure no matter what size can only stand up to one Shikai level technique and can only halve the damage of a Bankai technique.
Cool Down: 1 post
Duration: N/A
Technique Name: Hiken
Technique Type: Bankai
Degree of difficulty: Master
Description: Similar in a manner to Senbonzakura's Shikai. Satoru is able to focus energy and compress the falling snow and ice into clouds of razorblades, which can then be manipulated through his movements to cut the opponent. These cuts are are often superficial and as such it will take time to bring down any strong opponent. However, this attack allows Satoru to attack his opponents from beyond their reach.
Cool Down: 2 Post Cool Down
Duration: 2 posts
Technique Name: Bi-iitou
Technique Type: Bankai
Degree of difficulty: Master
Description: This technique is similar to it's predecessor, except that it creates 3 full sized swords varying in size from a cleaver sword like Ichigo's to a sword in similar size to Benihimes released state. These blades are composed entirely of thick ice and are able to deflect physical and bladed attacks, but are likely to be destroyed by bladed attacks of a captain level released blade.. Through his movements, Satoru can manipulate these three blades in any way he wishes.
Cool Down:Can only be used every 3 posts
Duration:Lasts until the swords are broken
Technique Name: Ice Clone
Technique Type: Bankai
Degree of difficulty: Master
Description: By Manipulating the ice and snow around him, Satoru can make a clone made of ice in his exact likeness to counter an attack. Any Shikai or above technique can destroy this clone. Due to the nature of this attack, it is only likely to fool and opponent once.
Cool Down: 2 posts
Duration: Until Clone is Destroyed
Technique Name: Toushisha
Technique Type: Bankai
Degree of difficulty: Master
Description: Satoru's strongest Bankai technique. Once utilized via the Command Phrase[Toushisha], the weather produced from his Bankai will become even more deadly. The ice and snow already covering the battle field, become a weapon in their own right during this technique. Upon being inhaled by the opponent, the ice and snow attack them from the inside. Enhanced by spiritual pressure the ice will not melt without intense heat.[Those possessing a technique which allows heat to be focused on their body will be able to counter this technique.] The snow will quickly melt, but due to the immense cold given off by the ice, it will quickly re-freeze. Once inside their body, the ice will begin attacking their system, attaching to their organs, joints and other parts of the body and as such induce hypothermia like effects on the target. When the organs are attacked, the user will find common vital functions such as breathing slowed and techniques such as high speed regeneration will be slowed. [After 3 posts under the effects.] Both the joints and bones will become brittle under the effects of the ice, making them easier to break and in the case of joints more difficult to move, slowing the opponent's movements.[After 5 posts]While the effects of this technique are strong, it takes a build up of ice within the target's system for the effects to become dangerous. No effect occurs until after the 3rd post of effect and the user has until the 15th post under the effect until their body will be unmovable and 20 until organs shut down.
Cool Down: This technique can only be utilized once per battle.
Duration: The Duration of this technique lasts until the user if either defeated or ends his Bankai.

Re: Satoru Takeshi WIP
History and RP Sample
History:
Education Can Only Get You So Far. The Heir Meets the Family.
RP Sample:
History:
The Power of a Family and the Curse of the Heir
- Spoiler:
- Station. It is where we all begin in life, each of us bound where we belong. Within the members of the Takeshi family, it is even more so important. To stray from one's station meant punishment. Some words could easily be used to describe most who bear the Takeshi blood. Cruel. Strict. Ambitious. It should also be noted that they will do nearly anything achieve their goals. Ambition overrides good sense and all companion is thrown away in the name of the family. Power seems to be the only thing that matters within the Takeshi family. Every action should bring a better name or a stronger attribute to the family, otherwise the cause may be drastic.
However, despite the rigid order of the family, they do not frown upon chaos. Not a word is whispered if a family member is found in an alley with their throat slit ear to ear and another family member just happens to benefit as a result of the death. Death is something the entire family has seen and they all keep one eye out to watch for a knife to the back. Yet, those who constantly look over their shoulders for a knife in the back never see the sword that cuts off their head. Yet, there must certainly be rules, otherwise the family would fall to the chaos and lust for power. To openly murder, steal or otherwise wrong a family member invokes punishment and the penalties of the Takeshi Family is merciless. However, if a throat happens to be slit in the dead of night, masked in a dark ally, it may be accepted, even applauded an the wrath will be avoided. Investigation into the death is not the family's forte. No one cares enough to bother.
Who could possibly let this slide, what person, man or woman could even stand this treatment to family members. One man could. If you think the family is bad, in it's cruelty, chaos and blind ambition, you have not seen this man. Station is the way he controls the family, each member blind with their own ambition, their own lust for power. Their own vices keep the family members in their appointed places allowing him to control all. Family? They dont even deserve to be called that. They are not his family, they are his pawns, puppets on the imperceptible but impervious strand of his web. What kind of man could this be? Well, this man just happens to be my father.-From the Journal of Satoru Takeshi
Satoru Takeshi was born in much the same way as any other child. He entered the world on a cold February night, his screams filling the air of the large mansion as a woman chanted, words over the child. The words, a prayer pleading to the gods to bless this child with life and protect him from the illness that had stolen the breath of children that swept across the countryside at this time. The mother in this case is unknown as of now, her life ending shortly after Satoru's screams filled the air, her eyes only once having falling upon her son's bright blue eyes before her on life force faded from this world. A boy with a full head of hair and a smile to go with it, his full head of dark hair and bright blue eyes were the spitting image of his deceased mother. These eyes brimmed with interest and curiosity only moments after he was born.
Where most children would've been raised by their parents (or in Satoru's case 'parent'), Satoru never came in contact with his father during the early years of his life. A busy man, Metsuki Takeshi had a family to control, a business to run and a country to exploit, he had no time for something as unimportant as his infant son and thus Satoru was raised by a series of nursemaids, each one changing almost daily because of his father's temper and claims to “only want the best for his son”. It was during this early stage that focused on Satoru learning both base motor skills and speech, yet even at a young age, he showed an immense curiosity in everything around him. It was this curiosity that made life a bit dangerous for the young child as he often found his way into things he shouldn’t have, often causing injuries and further outbursts from his mostly absent Father.
Once Satoru was able to both speak and read adequately, his true education began. His father knew that his child would one day need to lead the family into the next age and in order to do this he had to be flawless. Satoru would need to be both fit and educated, strong and smart, wise and battle ready. His son would need to be the best fighter, the smartest student and a master tactician. While others may see this as an impossible burden for the now 3 years old child, Metsuki planned to carve the child into the perfect son..the perfect heir.
At the age of 3 Satoru was taken from his home and sent to a monastery in the countryside where he began to study the arts of fighting. His father had, bought, bribed or blackmailed the best teacher's in the world to train his son, and forced them to work the child as hard as possible. The soulless leader of the family would come to check on his son every month to record his process and were it not satisfactory, Satoru would find himself with a brand new teacher after his hold one disappeared mysteriously. Despite the intense training, it was these first three years which were the easiest of his life for the young Takeshi, even at this young age he knew his life would be full or pressure, he knew he would be constantly pushed to be the best, he also knew that he possessed no interest in running the family as his father planned him too.
Loss of Faith and the Death of a Child.
- Spoiler:
Fear is what drove me during the first few months of my training. Fear of the pain. Fear of the Dark Fear of my Teachers. But most of all it was Fear of my Father. It was his wrath that drove me to complete my training not any interest in learning what was being taught. I feared the pain he would inflict upon me as well as that which he would inflict upon my teachers. And yet, as much as I feared my father and feared what he would do to me should I fail. I feared more the prospect of disappointing him. I could not let him down, as with every child at this age, he was my idol. I knew of his deeds at least in some way within my small mind, yet I did not realize the wrongness within them. He was my father. I feared him. But I could not wrong him.
Had I not been forced from the house of my Father, by the man himself; my life may have taken a completely different path. I would've been raised in the soulless manner he had planned. Raised to bathe in greed, lust for power and delight in hatred. Yet, as I was away from my Nursemaids for the first time, I was a lost child. A child who's absent idol left a space to be filled. It was in the temple, where my father sent me to learn to kill where I learned of another side to life. Perhaps it was this time win which my life and my mind were most defined. It was in this time when I believe my very destiny was changed. On one strand of time where my catalyst was absent, I would have became my Father's ideal son. Yet on this strand of time. My strand of time. I became me.
Some my say that subjecting the mere three year old Satoru to such vigorous and brutal training at his young age. They would have been right. Along with the physically demanding Taijutsu training, Satoru also was schooled in politics, strategy, tactics, military information, languages, history as well as the math and science of the time. While this was already an exhausting amount of education, Satoru was also forced to undergo drills of Chess, Shogi and Go to master strategy. His father proclaimed that each of these areas would mold both his mind and body into the perfect vessel for the future ruler of the Family.
Satoru's life became one of constant sculpting. The numerous lessons molding his minds, while the training shaped his body. By the age of four he was well adjusted to the constant mental and physical exercise and he soon realized he had a natural knack for almost anything he put his mind to. If he applied himself, all of his studies came naturally, although he excelled in the strategy training. His mind naturally saw the the goal and came with a plan to achieve it. He saw each piece both as a separate entity; as well as a piece of the larger plan. Soon after learning the rules, he was able to hold his own against his teachers, each of whom had been playing for years. It would seem strategy was his element, the very area in which he could outshine his father's shadow.
While he excelled in the educational aspects of his training, he did not falter in the physical arts. He absorbed knowledge like a sponge, every word his teachers spoke cataloged itself within his mind. His eyes were like a camera, his mind like film, everything he saw he seemed to be able to mimic, every movement he saw was recreated with almost perfect grace. Words such as prodigy were often used to describe the young Takeshi, yet he didnt feel like one. He trained constantly in an effort to gain his father's acceptance, yet he was quickly finding another reason to train. He found within him, the desire to master every skill he came across, almost an underlying competitiveness but not quite. He needed to master anything that stood against him, he was falling victim to his family's accursed need for control.
Yet, where the darkness of his Family and his Father's monthly visits crept into his soul, the universe seemed to show Satoru the light to correct the imbalance. During the second year of his training, at the age of 5, Satoru met a man who would shape the rest of his short life. After the failure of yet another teacher, an old man, a master in his own art, disappeared after one of Metsuki's monthly visits. His replacement was a man, who was young in comparison to the past and present teacher's Satoru had, yet it was assured that his skill was unmatched. Satoru found the man odd, he was very much different than all his other teachers. Where other teachers restricted them to teaching only what Metsuki approved of, this man took it upon himself to teach Satoru about the value of what he was learning. With a firm hand and a soft heart, Kenshi became a catalyst in Satoru's young life.~
“Why do we train?” the man lazily said sitting atop a branch of the tree, he spoke nonchalantly, yet within his voice echoed wisdom hidden deep within. His eyes fell upon the small child at the tree, his fingers gently brushing the bark of the tree as he awaited an answer. “We train so we can fight?” The small boy answered, a bit of a confused look on his face, he didn’t understand the purpose of these lessons with Kenshi. It seemed they did less and less training every time, he hadn’t learned anything new in days and he was starting to get irked.
Kenshi looked down on the boy once more, his gray eyes seeming to stare into the child. “And why do we fight?” he asked, his tone not changing. The child looked up at the man slightly confused. “Why do we fight? What kind of question is that? We fight so we can win! We fight so we can have power! We fight so we ca- -” The child's words were cut short as he felt to the ground, knocked off his feet by a blur colliding with his head. He felt the ground collide hard with his back before he noticed Kenshi now stood at the base of the tree, an angry flare in his eyes. “We fight to survive. We fight so that we can defend those we love. We dont fight for control over others or for power or even for the sake of fighting. We fight to control ourselves. We learn to fight in hopes that we do not have to fight. Those who use their fists for anger, control or some self absorbed lust for power fall quickly into the road of darkness.” With that the man walked away, leaving Satoru to ponder the words that were just said.~The next few months of Satoru's training went down a different path. While he still focused on both the mental and physical training, Kenshi took the child down a different path. Kenshi asked such difficult question, they shook Satoru's adopted viewpoints of the world. His father had taught him that power was the ultimate goal and any means could be used to obtain it. Yet Kenshi taught the child that one should always do his best to help others. “The only upside to possessing power is that you can use it to help others ” was something he always told Satoru. During the many months that Satoru trained with Kenshi, he felt his look at the world change, his father's views were directly countered by the views of Kenshi and through them Satoru in some manner developed his own views in his childish mind. Over time, the man became a surrogate father to Satoru, he had taught him more that Metsuki had and the bond was established.
For two additional years the two trained together, their bond deepening much to the dislike of Satoru's father. Metsuki saw the changes in his son and did not approve. His future hardened cruel leader off the clan was becoming tainted by this man. Yet at the same time Metsuki knew that by 'disposing' of Kenshi he would lose a skilled piece in his son's training. The head of the family put of his decision for two years until Satoru at the age of 7, did something his father could not forget.~The question rung in Metsuki's mind for a moment for a long moment. “What did you just say?” he said, his lip snarling as he venomously spat the words at the small child. “I said, why not use your power to help those within the province, you surely have enough money to - -” Once again in his life the child was lifted from his feet and thrown to the ground by the sheer power of a blow. A second man in the room tensed up, but was held back by two strong body Guards. “Ah ah. Wouldnt want to do anything rash would you Kenshi?” Metsuki said, a sarcastic overtone sounding from his snake-like tongue. A greedy man by nature, Metsuki would not stand for such words coming from the mouth of his own child. He didnt even flinch as tears rolled down Satoru's face, a mere sneer being the only thing anyone could see as he turned his back on the child and walked out with only a. “Dispose of him” echoing as he walked from the hall.~Those words echoed in Satoru's mind for the next few months. “Dispose of him”...the words even haunted him in his sleep. He knew what had happened to Kenshi and he knew that the only way to stop that from happening was to never get close to anyone. At the age of 7 Satoru began shutting his feelings down. He became merely a player on the board, the goal being the only thing in his mind. His goal would require more training and be incredibly risky, no longer was seeking to make his father proud. No, he was seeking revenge, he wanted to put his father into the ground in the ground. Hatred was the only thing Satoru felt, it burned inside of him, while everything else was ice. It was at the young age of 7 that Satoru realized his father needed to die.
We Live by the Blade and We Die by the Blade
- Spoiler:
- Shortly after I came to my realization, my father deemed my skill with my fists worthy of his standards. I hated him with every fiber I could muster of my being, yet I taught myself how to hide it. Everything he or anyone around me saw within my face was only what I wanted to see. My Father wanted a son who saw the world as profit, my teachers wanted a silent but eager student and so they both received. At the age of seven I was manipulating the people around me, perhaps I wasnt as unlike my father as I had hoped at the time.
Despite the fact that this stage of my education was over, I knew that I would not get a break. My father would not allow me rest until he deemed me worth of his standards. So at the age of seven, nearing my 8th birthday I left the monastery, which had been my home for the last four years and was sent to a Dojo to train in the art of swordsmanship. To my father, this skill was the highest honor for one to obtain....as if he knew anything about honor. Yet, I graciously accepted the knowledge, my young mine was already planning the board of which my father would play his last game.
The shell of a child left the monastery the day before his 8th birthday, eager to learn more skills which would help him in his plot for revenge. The dojo was on the other side of the province, far away from where Satoru had spent the last few years of his life. Perhaps this would help the child, maybe the distance would quell his rage at the loss of his surrogate father, yet the gods knew Satoru was too much like his father to let this go. He spent the week long journey across the country in silence, not speaking a word to his father, who had accompanied him on the trip. The boy withdrew deeper within himself as he had his first real taste of the outside world. The years before the monastery were beyond his memory and this was the first time he had seen anyone outside of his father's permission.
It was this trip that helped Satoru further deem the truth from Kenshi's words, the people of this nation were suffering and his father possessed more than enough resources to help a great many of them, yet his greed kept him firmly sat atop an empire built on the backs of the true people of the nation. It was here that Satoru made a silent vow to change this, upon his inheritance into his father's position. It would be difficult, he would have to fight the rest of his family every step of the way, their greed a match for his Father's in every way, but if anyone was stubborn enough to bring down the fear his family had accumulated it was Satoru.
The trip ended quickly, but not soon enough for Satoru and he arrived at the place where he would spend the next four years of his life. He was to be taught by the best swordsman who could be bought. The boy was sure this man was could, but was certain that there was someone better, someone with more pride and honor, someone who no amount of money could by. Satoru desperately wished to be taught by someone like that, someone much better than his teachers who were little more than thieves in his eyes, anyone who would compromise their art for money were dirt in Satoru's new eyes, the idea had been planted by Kenshi and in Satoru's rage it grew.
Despite his anger at lack of his ideal teacher, Satoru absorbed the knowledge of Kenjutsu like a sponge. His previous training in the physical arts carried over to the art of this weapon, his fitness and grace serving him just as well here as it did within the art of Taijutsu. In the similar manner as he had done when learning Taijutsu, he seemed to be able to instantly replicate any movement his teacher performed, but more astounding, he perfected them. If a move left you open in some manner, he found a way to fix it, knowing that every move should give an advantage, or take away a disadvantage.
For the following 4 years Satoru trained under this man. For four years, he listened to endless drills about the proper methods to attack. For four years, Satoru received beatings from the man every time he surpassed his teacher. For four years, his anger and hatred grew, yet for these years he held this in, until he was certain he had surpassed the man and upon that time, he would force the plan to move forward. Satoru's father would not move Satoru to the next stage of his training, until receiving a letter from his prideful teacher stating that he had advanced past this level of teaching. And so Satoru created a plan. A plan that would force both the hand of both his father and teacher.~With a soft 'slicnk' the blade severed through the bone and left a slowly bleeding wound in the man's back. The cold eyes blue eyes of a child stared down at the man as the Katana was removed. “And thus you have no purpose.” was all the child said, the letter to his father had been sent out, written after the wound had been inflicted and thus the child's plan had succeeded. “The wound wont kill you yet, it will only cripple you. You will be unable to use your blade, nor will you be able to raise your fist against anyone for the rest of your life” His voice was cold, yet vengeful and he felt the flame burn inside him as he walked away.
Yet, underneath this new feeling there was something, a nagging feeling. The words of his surrogate father came to mind. “Many that live deserve death, yet are you one to give it to them? Not even those with the most wisdom can see where all paths may end.” Upon remembrance of these words Satoru realized what he was becoming. Manipulating and then disposing of the man was something his father would have done....he felt sick as he realized that if he continued down this path he would become the very thing he hated most and it was at this point that he would only stain his soul with one more death. The stain would be his father.~
Education Can Only Get You So Far. The Heir Meets the Family.
- Spoiler:
- I found the art of the blade much more to my liking than, my fists. The use of a sword gave me a sense of honor that I felt my fists lacked. As I had at everything I set my mind to, I excelled at the art of the sword, my strategic mind and previous physical training giving me the edge I needed to quickly surpass my teacher. I was sick with rage over what I realized after my little plot. I saw the actions of my father reflected into my soul and knew that if I was not careful I would become him, thus my resolve strengthened. I vowed that his blood would be the last to stain my sword, I would stain him with the very art he professed love for. The last thing he would feel is my blade sliding silently across his throat.
Yet, there was something worse. What could be worse than my slow transformation into the very man I planned to kill? What’s worse is the fact that he openly gloated about it. I was his son. His prodigy. Without his force I would not be as I am. He openly boasted of my skills, of the fact that I had already surpassed a large number of the family who had been training for years longer than I had. I was his star, his trophy and it all caused bile to rise within my throat. I hated this man. Hated the fact that he was proud of what I let him see. Hated the way he was. Hated every fiber of his being. But most of all, I hated to taint my soul by ending his life, but alas it was a sacrifice I was willing to make.
At the age of 12 I had finished all my training, years ahead of my Father’s schedule and so the next step within my education was to learn about the inner workings of my family and as such the family business. If there was one thing everyone should know about my family, they must realize that they are all a bunch of cutthroat thieves. Any trust you place in them will be broken if they stand to gain from it. They are greedy, hateful, angry and powerful. It is not power that corrupts them, it is the love of power, the constant need for more power that corrupted them. Sitting upon the backs of those underneath them, they hold themselves on thrones of pride that rivals that of the gods. What is our business one might ask. Our business is money, our business is power, our business is information, our business is war. My family is famous in back alley dealings, we will give you the information you seek, the death you wish, and the life you desire. All of this of course.....for a price.
Satoru had become his father’s golden child, he had passed all his training with flying colors and had done so years beyond schedule. And so he came to the next part of his training, he was to learn every crevice of the family business. At the age of 12, he was for the first time, able to meet the rest of his family and what a family it was. It seemed the Takeshi clan breed in a similar manner to rabbits, he almost had trouble keeping track of them all. One thing Satoru did notice was that he did not like any of them and he loathed them all only slightly less than he did his father. Their methods were all the same, their only remorse was that they did not have enough money. They expressed no guilt for their actions, even those who had murdered relatives to gain a higher standing among the family. It seemed Satoru was alone in his family, the only one who had seen the wrong in it’s methods. More than once during this period Satoru wondered if he would be the same had it not been for the catalyst in his youth.
Satoru had never fully gotten the chance to understand the ‘family business’ until now. Yet now that he had the inside look, he realized it was much more complicated than he had originally thought. He had always assumed his Family were just mercenaries. Soldiers for hire, willing to spill the blood of anyone for large amounts of money. Yet now he realized it was much more than that. The best way to describe his family would be to say; “Money is all that matters”. This is to say, that they would do anything for money. Warfare, thievery, assassinations, acting as body guards, drug dealing, the deed does not matter as long as the payment is suitable.
Despite how much he hated to admit it, the way the family was run intrigued Satoru. Within the chaos, there was a system of order. The family was grouped by skill. The skilled thieves, were grouped together, commanded by the family member who was ‘the highest ranking’ among the group. However, Satoru was sure that the ‘highest ranking was synonymous to ‘the one who had manipulated and stabbed the most' Even with the short amount of time he had spent among family so far he was sure that anyone who held a high ranking position had lied and cheated their way to get it. Yet despite knowing this, he still found the organization within the family astounding. Each separate division was controlled by the highest ranking member who in turn took orders from the head of the family. The head of the family then controlled the finances, meeting clients and the plans for each operation. It was here that Satoru understood in some way why his father had pushed him so hard, yet this granted understanding did not lessen his hatred by any extent. Despite being impressed at the inner workings of the family, Satoru knew that it was based on exploitation of those who could not defend themselves and was still determined to bring it down and now he had memorized it’s intricate workings from the inside.
